This guide, written by Jose Arreola, E4FC's former Training & Community Relations Manager, and Jay Sherwin, Co-Director of E4FC's Invest in the Dream initiative, offers a brief and informative resource for scholarship providers that are seeking to launch or increase their support for undocumented students.

This Best Practices Guide is intended for all scholarship providers and college access organizations but especially for community foundations and other community-based scholarship programs. While the guide offers information and advice for organizations at all levels of experience, we hope it will be especially helpful to scholarship providers that are taking their first steps to support undocumented students.

NOTE: The political environment has changed dramatically since the guide was published, so we encourage you to read the document with that in mind. E4FC is closely following legal and political developments that could affect scholarship support for undocumented students; we are also mindful of the changing roles, responsibilities and potential risks facing scholarship providers.

We plan to update the guide by the summer of 2017. Until then, we encourage you to contact E4FC if you want to discuss best practices for supporting and protecting undocumented students pursuing higher education.
