FOR HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATORS (10+)

How to Support Undocumented Students Pursue College: Information, Resources and Best Practices

This presentation will be providing educators with a general overview of best practices, information and resources for supporting undocumented students go to college. The presentation includes information about Deferred Action for Childhood Arrival, the CA

Dream Act and AB 540 and scholarships. By the end of the presentation, educators will have a basic understanding of the opportunities and resources that undocumented youth and families can access in their pursuit of a college education.

FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS (25+)

DACA & CAL Dream Act: Making College a Reality for Undocumented Students

All there is to know about the resources available to undocumented students! The presentation will provide students with an overview information about the CA Dream Act and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. This presentation is designed to give students an overview on how to finance their college education, learn about potential pathways to protection from deportation, and the difference between DACA and the CA Dream Act.

Acción Diferida & El Acta de los Sueños: Como lograr la educación universitaria para estudiantes indocumentados

Esta presentación proporcionará a los estudiantes con información general acerca de el Acta de los Sueños de California, la Acción Diferida para jóvenes (DACA). Esta presentación está diseñada para dar a los estudiantes información general sobre cómo financiar su educación universitaria, su elegibilidad para protección de deportación y la diferencia entre el Acta de los Sueños y la Acción Diferida (DACA).

The CA Dream Act: Financing College for Undocumented Students

This is a perfect presentation for financial aid season! This presentation will provide students with information specific to the CA Dream Act (AB 130/131), AB 540 general eligibility requirements and how to look for scholarships. By the end of this presentation, students will have a basic understanding of the financial aid options available to them.

Duration: 25-40 minutes

Deferred Action: A Pathway to Protection From Deportation

If you are hosting a Cash for College event at your school, this will be a great complement to the financial aid programme! This presentation will provide students with overview information specific to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, general eligibility requirements, connecting to legal services. By the end of the presentation students will have a basic understanding about Deferred Action and where to seek application support.

Duration: 25-40 minutes


FOR HIGH SCHOOL PARENTS (25+)

Moving Forward: How to Support Your Undocumented Children Go to College (English)

This presentation is designed to provide parents of undocumented students with basic information and resources.

We will go over the recent Deferred Action policy, financial aid opportunities and other important resources that their children can utilize in their pursuit of college.

Duration: 60 minutes

Esta presentacion contiene informacion y consejos para los padres de estudiantes indocumentados. Presentaremos acerca la Acción Diferida, ayuda financiera del estado, como obtener becas, recursos para estudiantes indocumentados.

FOR COLLEGE FACULTY, STAFF & ADMINISTRATORS (10+)

Effectively Using the CA UndocuCollege Guide & Equity Tool to Increase Institutional Support for Undocumented Students in College.

This presentation is designed to:

1) Expose colleges and universities to innovative institutional models of success that reduce educational roadblocks and improve the campus climate for undocumented students at their school;

2) Elevate the challenges CA institutions are facing across systems that prevent academic success to raise awareness for collective solutions; and

3) Develop a better understanding of how the UndocuCollege Guide Equity Tool will help schools effectively analyze and increase the level of support currently present at their institutions.

Duration: 90-120 minutes

Helping Undocumented Students Maximize Funds from the CA Dream Act

This presentation will help educators gain a better understanding of how to help students successfully apply for and receive all CA state financial aid for which they are eligible. Topics covered will include: an overview of the entire CA Dream application process, eligibility requirements including AB 540 or AB 2000, differences in aid across educational systems, important priority deadlines, common pitfalls that can prevent funds from being awarded, and strategies for meeting college costs not covered by CA Dream Act.

Duration: 60-90 minutes

UndocuAlly Training: Supporting Undocumented Students Graduate from College: Information, Resources and Best Practices 

This presentation will provide educators with information, resources and best practices to support undocumented students achieve their academic goals. Educators will receive an overview of AB 540, AB 2000, the CA Dream Act, DACA, and available scholarships with links to specific educational materials. By the end of the presentation, educators will have a basic understanding of the challenges and resources undocumented students can face in their pursuit of a college education.

Understanding Residency for Tuition Purposes in CA for Students with AB 540, AB 2000 & U Visas

This presentation will provide educators with a clear understanding of how CA Residency is determined for tuition purposes to ensure a smoother enrollment process into college for their students  and access to all financial aid for which they are eligible.  Topics will include the differences between CA residency and US citizenship, the importance of parental residency for students under age 19, the necessary elements for residency reclassification, and of course, the eligibility requirements for AB 540, AB 2000, and U visa holders.

Through a panel discussion, we invite community members to join a few members of the E4FC Outreach Team to engage in a conversation about what it means to be undocumented.

Walk with Us: Panel Discussion with College Educators Advocating for Undocumented Students

Through a panel discussion, we invite College Educators to join our member of the E4FC Higher Education Initiative to engage in a conversation about what it means to be an educator advocating for undocumented students.


TABLING (25+)

E4FC Outreach Ambassadors come to your site to personally interact with your community members. They will pass out E4FC promotional materials, answer questions and share their success stories. This is a great way for your students to meet amazing role models one on one!
