Since 2009, E4FC’s Legal Services program has helped thousands of undocumented young people across the United States understand their potential immigration remedies, benefits, and rights through our innovative online legal intake (DREAMer Intake Service), authoritative educational materials, and intensive training of immigrants in immigration law.
The Legal Services Coordinator is an invaluable member of the Legal Services team whose work enables E4FC to provide legal information to hundreds of undocumented young people each year through our online intake, create professional and leadership development opportunities for Legal Advocate Fellows, and conduct educational community presentations about immigration law.
Develop, coordinate, and facilitate the immigration law training of a small team of Legal Advocate Fellows
Support leadership development, professional development, and mentorship of Legal Advocate Fellows
Facilitate workflow of the DREAMer Intake Service and follow-up calls, including filling-in for Legal Advocates when needed
Respond to community email and phone inquiries
Deliver community education presentations and media interviews about immigration remedies and resources for undocumented young people
Support ongoing planning, evaluation and development of the Legal Services program and other cross-program collaboration (within E4FC)
We are seeking candidates who will be thoroughly committed to E4FC’s mission and vision.
Have direct knowledge of, or personal connection to, the undocumented experience in the U.S.
Bachelor’s degree or at least four years of related work experience
Able to juggle multiple responsibilities with attention to detail and strong organizational and time management skills
Strong initiative, with capacity to work independently as well as cooperate effectively on multiple teams
Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to interact with all levels of staff and external contacts, sensitivity to cultural differences when working with people from diverse backgrounds, and ability to exercise discretion on confidential matters
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Kind and empathetic
Demonstrate a commitment to continued learning and growth as well as a willingness to try new experiences
Previous experience in leadership development and mentoring of young adults and/or volunteers
Previous experience developing, coordinating, and facilitating trainings
Previous public speaking experience
Demonstrable knowledge of U.S. immigration law. Current or former Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) Accreditation a plus
Former E4FC program participant
Bilingual/bicultural. Spanish proficiency a plus
Computer Skills: Microsoft Office and Google Apps. Experience with Salesforce a plus
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Full time, exempt position based on a 40-hour work week, with some evenings and weekends required. Competitive salary depending on experience, with generous vacation, sick leave, health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
